Who Are the Spirit Guides?...

They're your best friends!

It is a non-denominational truism that every human has at least two spirit guides. You may never have been aware of their presence, but they are there. They will stay with you even if you choose to ignore them and they will continue to love and honour you throughout your life. The guides are here to help you with your Lesson and it is often true that their own Lessons may run in tandem with yours. You chose your spirits before you were born, you selected them to be your best friends during this Lesson cycle. You chose them because you knew they would help you "get the job done" and because you knew you could trust them as fully and completely as they willingly trust in you.

You are not obliged in any way to get to know your spirit guides, but you should know that they are with you because they love you and they will never desert you, as long as you keep up your end of the partnership. Your relationship with your guides is a two-way street. They love and honour you and they deserve the same from you. Some of you may already be in communication with your guides and perhaps other spirits as well or some would like to become acquainted with your guides. There are good books available that offer various methods and like any good meditation technique or diet or exercise, it is up to you to find the one that feels right for you. My personal advice is to go with the technique that is the simplest and most comfortable and relaxing.

There are many humans who apparently have contact with their guides and other spirits, yet they are somehow unaware of the significance of these relationships and apparently have no standard of ethics regarding these relationships. There is an appallingly high rate of spirit abandonment and nearly all of it is based in ignorance, ego arrogance and apparently a certain amount of premeditated malice. Spirits are not second-class citizens, yet there are still many people who prefer to treat them as such. Generally this behaviour is a result of ignorance, without malice, yet there is a criminal amount of thoughtlessness regarding the spirits.

There is a great deal of misunderstanding regarding the relationship between incarnate (physical dense) humans and discarnate (physical non-dense) humans. Probably the most popular misconception is that the spirits serve you, personally, rather than the plan. The spirits do serve you and you serve them as well, in partnership. The partnership is mutual, there is no seniority (or ascendancy), nor is there an aspect of slavery or obligation. While it is true that there are many people who understand that earth society is based on free will, it is also true that very few people have applied this concept to spirits. Spirits operate within the parameters of free will and they, too, have the right to claim fair treatment, love and honour. Rights that humans in our society have learned to take for granted.

Universal Spirit does not distinguish or differentiate its love between those in the carnate and those in the discarnate. Spirit knows that people and their spirits in partnership with earth, are working together as collective forms of the whole. The love of spirit is all-encompassing and is not selective. All creatures of Light are loved and are not ranked in order of human based priorities, nor are they ranked in relation to visibility within human reference or understanding. Incarnate humans do not even begin to reflect a majority within the sphere of earth based societies.

It is largely due to ego that humans thus far, have not really been able to perceive or interact with their spirit guides. As the ego is a barrier against recognising the whole and to understanding one's own place in the one life. Ego, in this context, is the belief-system which says that humanity is the most important reflection of life and that I, as the individual, am greater than the whole. Many humans are not consciously aware of their own egotistic outlook, yet they reflect this outlook in their isolation, sadness and general imbalance.

Many humans are learning to take responsibility for themselves and in their process of self-learning they will come to understand their partnership with their spirit guides. As they come to this understanding, the love energies around those people will multiply greater than geometrically and with absolute transcendence, as is the way of Spirit.
