Altar Layout

All workings must be done facing East. You may want to purify yourself with a salt bath before starting the ceremony. The layout of the Altar should contain the following...

  A red taper candle, a Goddess Candle, a Pentacle or Salt Bowl, a God Candle, your Book of Shadows, an Athame, a Cup or Chalice and an Incense burner

 

Casting the Circle

Invision yourself with a blue glowing energy around, protecting you from harm. Concentrate and chant the following...

"By the Earth that is Her body and by the Air that is Her breath and by the Fire of Her bright spirit and by the living Waters of Her womb The Circle is cast."

You can use this alternative also, but remember, the best is always what you feel...

"The East, the Wind Positive forces, I call you in The South, the Fire And this right in my desire The North, the Grove Bring your gifts, I make it so The Center, the Force, I call you to open your doors." "I conjure Thee, O Circle of Power, that thou best a boundary between the world of humanity and the realms of the mighty spirits. A place of joy , love and trust to preserve and contain the power we shall raise within. I have called upon the protectors of the East, South, West and North to aid me in the construction of this Circle. In the name of the Horned Lord and the Radiant Lady thus do I conjure thee, Great Circle of Power. The Circle is cast."

 

Calling the Quarters

EAST

"Lords and Ladies of the watchtower of the East,
Your time the pale and rosy light of dawn, the green budding of Spring
Aid us with the knowledge needed to work the Magick.
I do summon, stir, and call you up to join with us this night."

 

SOUTH

"Lords and Ladies of the watchtower of the South,
Your time the clear and bright Moonday, the many coloured flowering of Summer,
Aid us with the strength of will to work the Magick.
I do summon, stir, and call you up to join with us this night."

 

WEST

"Lords and Ladies of the watchtower of the West,
Your time the grey and shadowed twight, the crimson and gold harvesting time of Autumn,
Aid us with the courage to dare to work the Magick.
I do summon, stir, and call you up to join with us this night."

 

NORTH

"Lords and Ladies of the watchtower of the North,
Your time the darkness of the midnight sky, the white stillness of Winter
Aid us with the strength to keep silent after we work the Magick !
I do summon, stir and call you up to join with us this night."

 

Invocations

 

"Great Goddess / God I ask you to join me tonight
at the waxing of the Moon's powers to assist me in my rite
Tonight, I ask for guidance, for luck, for success in .....................
Guide me, protect me, help me.
I, your priestess ask this of you. So mote it be !"

 

Another one...

 

"Great Goddess, Mother of earth, I invoke and call upon you this night to celebrate
the bounty of your harvest, the fruits of earth which you have generously provided us,
and to ask the continued blessings of abundance and prosperity"

"Great God, Horned God of the wilderness and the beasts which dwell within,
bring your power, vitality and blessings to the Circle this night."

 

Yet another one...

 

"I invoke and call you upon thee O Mother Goddess
who shines for all, who flows trough all, Maiden, Mother and Crone.
I invite you to my Circle. Touch us, change us, make us whole."

"I invoke and call you upon thee O Father God
Lord of the Sun, Master of all that is wild and free.
I invite you to my Circle. Touch us, change us, make us whole."

 

Concentration

You must have the absolute will to succeed, the firm belief that you can do so and the determination to win against all obstacles. Concentrate on the goal you want to achieve, and visualize yourself when it will be done. Imagine yourself happy, calm and relaxed, having achieved what you want.

 

Actual Working

When you work a spell, you must be as specific as it is possible to be. The spells work better if in rhyme. Create a rhyme of your own to each spell, and remember to end EVERY spell saying  :
  "In no way shall this spell reverse, nor place upon me any curse"

You can ask for your Guardian Angel for help if you want. And to seal the spell you have to say what you want in present time, as you have already achieved it.

 

Grounding of Energy

You may ground your energy in two ways : Either place both hands on the ground and feel the energy drain into Mother Earth, or imagine your energy as a force field around you, and quietly step back out of the skeleton of energy and watch it collapse in upon itself and melt into the ground.

 

Dedicate cake & wine

Hold the cup to the sky and say...

"Gracious Goddess of abundance, Bless this (wine/cakes) and infuse it with your love In your names, Mother Goddess and Father God I bless this (wine/cakes)"

Then partake cake & wine.

 

Thank Goddess and God

"Lady and Lord, thank you for sharing this time with me.
My thanks for watching over me, guarding and guiding us.
Go if you must, stay if you will, but remain always in our hearts
and know you are always welcome here.
So mote it Be !"

 

Closing the Circle

Visualize the blue energy growing less bright and finally going back to your body from which it came from. Concentrate and say...

"By the Earth that is Her body and by the Air that is Her breath and by the Fire of Her bright spirit and by the living Waters of Her womb The Circle is open, but unbroken May the joy of the Goddess live in our hearts. Merry meet and merry part And merry meet again."

 

Clean up Altar space and Disposing the Items

Clean everything up in your Altar and prepare to dispose the Items. If they represented someone, keep them in a safe place, or burn them sprinkling some salt on them.
If the item can't be burned, hold it in your hand over the smoke of the incense and say :
  "No longer this (name of item) represents anyone or anything. It's once again simply an object, signifying nothing. Anything that I or anyone else does to this (name of item) will have no relationship with the person this used to represent. This (name of item) is now pure and clean, cleansed of all energies."

After a Ceremony, do not try any activities, just relax and
take a rest.
