Astral Travel
In astral projection the astral body leaves the physical. The astral body is one
of seven sheath bodies we all have - as we are all multi-dimensional. These
bodies include the physical, mental, causal, etheric, emotional, spiritual.
What I have found is that some people can astral project naturally - and have
been doing it for years. Other people are afraid to leave the physical body and
struggle with it never being able to astral project. These people could try
remote viewing as an alternative.
In astral projection you remain attached by a silver "umbilical type" cord to
your physical body - though you may not see it. You travel out and are aware of
things you encounter along the way.
To astral project, as with all out-of-body experiences one must feel totally
relaxed, clothing fitting comfortable, reclining is best. Often a comforter is
best over the body as the physical body sometimes gets cold when you travel out.
You can practice alone or with one person.
Find a quiet place free of distractions
Adjust the lighting and room temperature
Adjust clothing, footwear and eyeglasses.
Sit down or lie down
Find a position that is comfortable for you
Quiet your mind and still your thoughts
Relax your body
Your face, your jaw, relaxing
Your shoulders, your neck, relaxed
Your arms, your hands, feel at peace
Your torso, your hips, letting go
Your legs, your feet, totally relaxed
Focus on your breathing
Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose
Retain the breath as long as is comfortable
Exhale through the mouth slowly and completely
Repeat for two more breaths or as is comfortable.
Let go of the fear of leaving your physical body.
Remember you astral project when you sleep.
See yourself floating away from your physical body. You may feel as release or
perhaps hear a sound as you leave.
If you get fearful, please stop as you are not ready for astral projection.
Anything done in metaphysics should feel comfortable and easy. If it is
stressful, let it go for now, as you are not ready.

Quiet your mind. Clear your thoughts.
In your mind say:
"I'm going to count down from 3 to 1, visualizing each number on a white orb
suspended in the air above my head. When I reach the third and final "1" my body
will be deeply relaxed. I will have no awareness of physical sensations. I will
not perceive any physical discomfort. My consciousness will be focused on my
astral body.
Now visualize a white orb suspended in the air above your head. Mentally focus
on the orb I visualize a number "3" on the face of the orb. The numbers can be
any colour. They may vary with each experience. Visualize the 3 --three times:
three number "3's" on the orb. Your body is completely relaxed. You are losing
awareness of your physical body.
Then repeat the visualization with three number "2's." You are into greater
relaxation. Now visualize the "1's." You are losing awareness of physical
sensations. Your consciousness will be in your astral body.
Repeat this using the number "1's" three times. Your consciousness is now in my
astral body.
This could involve training of several sessions. You may also find audio tapes
that take you down into these altered states as well. You getting better and
faster as you go along each time.
There is no set agenda for how often you practice astral projection or any other
out-of-body technique. It soon becomes fun. It is like a deep meditation.
Now the key is to remain conscious while my body is asleep. Different thoughts
may pull you from your focus as the mind loves to chatter. Just push these
thoughts away.
The Monroe Technique - by

have read Monroe's books and they are great. I really recommend them if you are
interested in astral travel.
Step One
Relax the body. According to Monroe, "The ability to relax is the first
prerequisite, perhaps even the first step itself" to having an OBE. (Out of Body
Experience). This includes both physical and mental relaxation. Monroe does not
suggest a method of attaining this relaxation, although progressive muscle
relaxation, coupled with deep breathing exercises (inhale 1, exhale 2, inhale
3... until about 50 or 100) are known to work well.
Step Two
Enter the state bordering sleep. This is known as the hypnogogic state. Once
again, Monroe doesn't recommend any method of doing this. One way is to hold
your forearm up, while keeping your upper arm on the bed, or ground. As you
start to fall asleep, your arm will fall, and you will awaken again. With
practice you can learn to control the hypnogogic state without using your arm.
Another method is to concentrate on an object. When other images start to enter
your thoughts, you have entered the hypnogogic state. Passively watch these
images. This will also help you maintain this state of near-sleep. Monroe calls
this Condition A.
Step Three
Deepen this state. Begin to clear your mind. Observe your field of vision
through your closed eyelids at the blackness in front of your. After a while you
may start to notice light patterns. These are simply neural discharges. They
have no specific effect. Ignore them. When they cease, one has entered what
Monroe calls Condition B. From here, one must enter an even deeper state of
relaxation which Monroe calls Condition C-- a state of such relaxation that you
lose all awareness of the body and sensory stimulation. You are almost in a void
in which your only source of stimulation will be your own thoughts.
The ideal state for leaving your body is Condition D. This is Condition C when
it is voluntarily induced from a rested and refreshed condition and is not the
effect of normal fatigue. To achieve Condition D, Monroe suggests that you
practice entering it in the morning just as you are getting up, or after a short
nap.
Step Four
Enter a state of Vibration. This is the most important part of the technique,
and also the most vague.
Many projectors have noted these vibrations at the onset of projection. They can
be experienced as a mild tingling, or as if electricity is being shot through
the body. Their cause is a mystery. It may actually be the astral body trying to
leave the physical body.
For entering into the vibrational state, he offers the following directions:
1. Remove all jewellery or other items that might be touching your skin.
2. Darken the room so that no light can be seen through your eyelids, but do not
shut out all light.
3. Lie down with your body along a north-south axis, with your head pointed
toward magnetic north.
4. Loosen all clothing, but keep covered so that you are slightly warmer than
what might normally be comfortable.
5. Be sure you are in a location where, and at a time when, there will be
absolutely no noise to disturb you.
6. Enter a state of relaxation.
7. Give yourself the mental suggestion that your will remember all that occurs
during the upcoming session that will be beneficial to your well being. Repeat
this five times.
8. As your breathe, concentrate on the void in front of you.
9. Select a point a foot away from your forehead, then change your point of
mental reference to six feet.
10. Turn the point 90 degrees upward by drawing an imaginary line parallel to
your body axis up above you head. Focus there and reach out for the vibrations
at that point and bring them back into your body.
Even if you don't know what these vibrations are, you will know when you have
achieved contact with them.
Step Five
Learn to control the vibrational state. Practice controlling them by mentally
pushing them into your head, down to your toes, making them surge throughout
your entire body, and producing vibrational waves from head to foot. To produce
this wave effect, concentrate on the vibrations and mentally push a wave out of
your head and guide it down your body. Practice this until you can induce these
waves on command. Once you have control of the vibrational state, you are ready
to leave the body.
Step Six
Begin with a partial separation. The key here is thought control. Keep your mind
firmly focused on the idea of leaving the body. Do not let it wander. Stray
thoughts might cause you to lose control of the state.
Now having entered the vibrational state, begin exploring the OBE by releasing a
hand or a foot of the "second body". Monroe suggests that you extend a limb
until it comes in contact with a familiar object, such as a wall near your bed.
Then push it through the object. Return the limb by placing it back in
coincidence with the physical one, decrease the vibrational rate, and then
terminate the experiment. Lie quietly until you have fully returned to normal.
This exercise will prepare you for full separation.
Step Seven
Dissociate yourself from the body. Monroe suggests two methods for this. One
method is to lift out of the body. To do this, think about getting lighter and
lighter after entering the vibrational state. Think about how nice it would be
to float upward. Keep this thought in mind at all costs and let no extraneous
thoughts interrupt it. An OBE will occur naturally at this point.
Another method is the "Rotation Method" or "roll-out" technique. When you have
achieved the vibrational state, try to roll over as if you were turning over in
bed. Do not attempt to roll over physically. Try to twist your body from the top
and virtually roll over into your second body right out of your physical self.
At this point, you will be out of the body, but next to it. Think of floating
upward, and you should find yourself floating above the body.

Love Spell
Need:
5 votive candles
Your picture
Place the 5 votive candles in a shape of a heart and place your picture in the
centre, ask the Goddess of Love to make you beautiful/handsome. Thank the
Goddess and do something really nice for someone that you despise, do not know
or don't care much about. The good you do will come back to you!
Spell to Know the Child Within
Cast a Circle. Sit facing south and light a green or blue candle. Have a doll or
stuffed animal. Take it in your hands and sprinkle it with salt water.
Say:
"I name you _________________."
(Use your own childhood name or nickname.)
Hold it in your arms, croon to it, rock it, and talk to it. Tell it everything
you would have liked to hear as a child. Let it talk to you and tell you how it
feels and what it wants. Let your voice change. Play.
Raise energy and visualize that you are pouring it into the doll, who is your
own inner self. Create an image of your own child self as you would have liked
it to be, and project it into your doll. Continue until the doll is glowing with
white light and love.
Kiss the doll. Wrap it in white cloth and lay it to rest on your altar. Bind the
spell. Earth the power. Open the Circle. Repeat as often as you need or want to.

Three casting stones
Cast a triple circle. Conjuring of Spirits is always done in hours of darkness, not necessary to be midnight, but preferred. After you have performed your primary ritual, cast the incense into your burner, Place the Spirit Candle into the centre of the altar and say:

unless the Spirit replies in some other manner.

Deal gently with the friendly Spirits and they will lead you
to the Greater Mysteries.
During your questioning, observe the Spirit Candle.
If it wavers or rises and falls, or flickers unevenly, use
the Tarot to see if the Spirit has a message.
You may ask 3 questions, after that you must ask:
May I seek further guidance?
Ask only 3 more questions.
Bid the Spirit depart, saying:
(Name), Good Spirit,
Thou hast diligently answered my questions and I do thank
thee. I hereby give thee license to depart. Depart, thrice -

Basic Spell Construction
Because of the very nature of Magick, each working should be highly
individualized and personal. Even if following a traditional spell, it should be
tailored to your specific needs to be most effective for you. Understanding the
basics of Spell Construction will enable you to formulate your own specific,
effective spells for any purpose you desire.
Preliminary planning is necessary. The very first step is to decide precisely
what your desired end result is to be. Before you can start, you must decide
where you are going. You must be very explicit.
It is important, also, that you choose your time carefully. You should take into
consideration all Astrological implications, energy currents and Moon phases.
The Moon is the astronomical body closest to us and, therefore, has a profound
influence upon us, it is very important to choose a time when the Moon is in an
astrological sign which is appropriate for your working. For example:
Aries/Action - Enthusiasm
Taurus/ Renewal -Sensuality
Gemini/Communication -Curiosity
Cancer/Emotion - Nurturing
Leo/Vitality -Determined
Virgo/Organizing -Studious
Libra/Balance - Cooperation
Scorpio/Sexual -Philosophical
Sagittarius/ Strength - humour
Capricorn/Authority - Ambitious
Aquarius/Innovation- Social
Pisces/Sensitivity - Idealistic.
Bear in mind that magickal workings for gain, increase or bringing things to
you, should be initiated when the Moon is Waxing (from New to Full); when the
Moon is Waning (from Full to Dark), it is time for magickal workings of decrease
or sending away.
The highest energy occurs at the Full Moon and, therefore, this is the most
powerful time for magickal workings. The New Moon is the next most powerful time
for Magick.
Whenever possible, follow Nature's natural Energy Currents. There is a natural
time for starting things (a planting time), for maturing things (a growing
time), for reaping things (a harvest time) and, of course, a time for rest and
planning.
Flowing with these currents will make your magickal work much easier.
Remember to plan your project for a time of uninterrupted privacy. It is
important that you have no distractions. Generally speaking, it is best to work
as late at night as possible. A time when there is less frantic energy is most
appropriate. You might consider Midnight or later.
In choosing a place to do your magickal working pay particular attention to your
needs, for you must be comfortable. Your place should be private, quiet and
secure. If at all possible, set aside a special place for this purpose only. An
unused room, a special corner of your bedroom, a quiet, secluded spot in your
garden. A place that is yours. A place that you can come to whenever need arises
and that is as free from intrusion of others as possible.
Prior to the night of your magickal working, gather together the things that you
will need. All of the things used are tools. They have no inherent magick. They
are to help you create a mood. If correctly made and used, they will trigger
primitive responses from deep within you. They should be chosen with care.
Consider the purpose of your ritual and choose your tools accordingly. If your
magick is to be sexual, your candles, oils, incenses and so forth, should bring
forth a sexual response. If the desired result of your Magick is Tranquility,
then the tools should make you feel calm, peaceful and serene. Any candles you
might use should not have commercially added fragrances as these may not be
appropriate for your working.
Prior to your ritual, prepare yourself and your equipment by any means necessary
to clean and purify. Historically, people have fasted, followed meticulous and
detailed bathing practices, practiced chastity and used many other methods.
Most often a Ritual Bath is the preferred method. A bath frequently utilizing
candlelight, fragrant herbs, bath salts or sensuous oils. A sumptuous hot bath,
special bathing preparations and appropriate lighting, combined, can create the
soothing effect which will help in the very important step of relaxing and
clearing the mind completely of all mundane thoughts and experiences of the day.
Your ritual Bath should, also, begin to set the specific vibrations conducive to
your purpose into motion. You must not only cleanse and purify but must, also,
begin to create the type of energy necessary.
Once your purification process has been accomplished, you are now ready to
begin. Proceed to the special place you have previously chosen in which to
perform your magick. If at all possible, you should make use of the primitive
responses set into motion by a well chosen piece of music. Your music should
start slowly and build to a rousing climax.
As you use your oils, light your candle or incense (or utilize any other tool
you have chosen), you should begin to further intensify the energy that you have
set into motion around you. A high degree of intensity is vitally important.
The Altered State of Consciousness that you must reach is not a meditative
state. Anything that interferes with your ability to concentrate upon, reach and
control the high energy state necessary to perform magick should be avoided.
Such as, screaming children, a sink full of dirty dishes, use of alcohol or
drugs, etc.
Do not scatter your energy by attempting to do more than one magickal working at
a time.
Remember that Magick is the manipulation of energy, a thought is a form of
energy and a visualization is an even stronger form of energy. Your
visualization can be a method used to intensify further and direct your will.
Your visualization can be the method by which you control the magickal energy
you have produced. You must know what you want. You must see it. You must feel
the high energy flow. You must direct it.
One of the most important elements in the practice of any form of Magick is the
Universal Law of Cause and Effect. This means that whatever you do (or don't do)
you cause something to happen.
The most important consideration is the Universal Law of Retribution. This means
that no matter what you do, it comes back to you in like kind.
It is the nature of things that as you send something out it gains momentum, so
that, by the time it comes back to you, it is three times stronger. If you do
something nice for someone, someone will do something nicer for you.

Of course you don't have to follow this to a tee...but it does help your spell
get more centered on the intention of it.
Moon Incense
This incense is used in many rituals and is a common spell component. It is an
incense of increase that is deceivingly easy to make. Use all of your focus and
energy, your will and intention, while making this scent. You may find that this
is one of the best powdered incenses you've ever made! It is used over charcoals
(the ones specifically made for incense that come in rolls) or over a ritual
fire.
CAUTION! Warning! If used over a ritual fire, flames will leap up along the dust
trail of this incense powder! There will be sparkling (sparks) of incense
outside of this trail of flames as well! This is an impressive effect, but
dangerous if you are not practiced at it! Start out small and toss about 1
teaspoon of it over the glowing coals or flames, all at once, don't trail the
dust or sprinkle it. Stand away from the fire, and upwind. Use in areas that do
not require burn permits, and have something to douse the fire nearby. Do not
use if you are wearing gauzy or loose ritual robes and costumes. Be very
careful! You are responsible for your actions.
The Recipe
Within the three days prior to the actual full moon, but not after! Gather the
ingredients required, along with a mortar and pestle to blend them in. If
desired, you can use your cauldron, and some sort of crushing or mixing tool.
2 ounces (about 56 grams) of the finest sandalwood powder you can find
4 grams (a marble sized nugget) of amber resin, NOT the stone! The soft, sweet
smelling resin that is often imported from India, available at health food
stores, and of course herb and Witch shops.
3 drops of Vanilla Extract. Real vanilla extract is available at almost any
grocery store.
Please Note: This recipe is intended for outdoor rituals. If you will be using
the Moon Incense inside, use 1/2 ounce Sandalwood powder instead of 1 ounce and
increase the amber from 5 grams to 10 grams!
Preferably outside, under the actual full moon, or indoors near a window where
the moon is visible: Fill the mortar or cauldron with the sandalwood powder, and
crush the amber into it with the pestle or tool of your choice. Use CLOCKWISE or
DEOSIL blending motions. Focus on the energy of the full moon, or if you are
making the incense for a specific spell, focus on the goal of that spell alone.
You can incorporate your favourite words of power or chant while doing this.
When the powder is smooth and consistent, add the vanilla, one drop at a time
while saying your chosen words of power, (which is best) or the following (which
will suffice in most cases): Drop of moon, grant my boon.
Blend in the drops in the same way you blended in the amber resin. Place the
mixture in a clear glass jar with an airtight lid. Keep it away from heat,
sunlight, and moisture. Charge it under the light of the full moon on the three
days prior to it becoming actually full. The full moon light penetration is the
reason for not storing this in an opaque jar. It is ready for use immediately,
but can be charged more if desired.

Spells
A Witches Daily Correspondences for Spellcasting
Some witches, mainly Wiccans I believe, do their spell work on certain days of
the week, depending on the theme of the spell. They believe that the day of the
week holds a special significance to the theme of their spell.
Here are the weekly planetary correspondences. You can use these to determine
which days of the week you may have better luck with the spells you are casting.
Monday: The Moon; best for emotionally based spell work, such us attracting
confidence and intuition, protection spells, clairvoyance etc..
Tuesday: Mars; great for spells to inspire passion and energy such as a spell to
boost confidence. Mars is a warrior, so if you need a spiritual battle, this is
the day for it. Tuesday is also a good day for protection spells.
Wednesday: Mercury; Great for communication (worldly or otherwise). Good for
spells involving the granting of information. Like Willow in Buffy when she says
"Reveal!"
Thursday: Jupiter; probably the best day for spell work as Jupiter is so
benevolent and loves to give. All prosperity spells or luck and success spells
should be done on this day (be sure to keep it with the waxing moon).
Friday: Venus. . .ahhh, sweet love. This is a day for love spells and also a
good day to offer your love to the gods/goddesses of choice. As the Cure say,
"Friday, I'm in Love!"
Saturday: Saturn. A restrictive energy. Good for banishing spells and ridding
old energies. Binding spells are also potent on this day. Also good for focusing
and developing patience (something a lot of witches don't have). Typically, I do
not do spells on Saturdays unless it is to get rid of unwanted energies or
desires.
Sunday: The Sun; Truth in all matters. The sun is great for truth spells and
generating warmth in your heart. If you feel that you are frigid inside and
holding tons of resentment, use the Sun energy on Sundays to shine through a
cloudy heart.
