Calling Specific
Non-physical entities
When I have done this, I have used a medium-sized iron cauldron, water, salt, a good-sized candle, and the sticky candle fixative you can find in candle shops. A metal pot should work as well, and any candle you can get to resist the floating effects of water.
I set up my usual circle and blessed all my tools, the table itself, the cats, and anything else that might even touch what I was doing. I put about 4 inches of water in the cauldron, and a good-sized handful of salt, stirring them counter clockwise with the banishing blessing. Then I put in my candle in the middle.
Then I took *out* my candle, and smeared a gob of that sticky candle fixative on the bottom of it, and then put it back in the cauldron. This time it didn't float.
Then I fixed my mind on the entities I was calling, identifying them by
everything I knew about them. I set up a mnemonic rhyme I could use that would
focus my calling on them, including the repetitive phrase "would you like to /
come and visit." I lit my candle, and started my rhyme, using a kind of
"pulling" sense with it. It took about 45 minutes to get them there.
Necessary warning: Any kind of calling will attract the attention of everything within listening range.
Symbolic Breakdown
The circle acts to focus what you're doing, not letting any of your energies escape.
The blessings act to keep everything working on your behalf.
The iron cauldron filled with salt water will bar the entry of those whom you have not invited.
The candle acts as a beacon.
The "pulling" sets up a current to help your particular entity find its way.
The rhyme identifies the entity called, thereby attracting its attention and letting it know it's invited.
You might want to include the reason for the call in your rhyme.
The rhyme also acts to allow your particular entity to escape the bar set up for everything else, and actually arrive.
Make sure to make a ball of energy to feed your guest when it arrives; such
travel is hard. And make sure to plan to feed your guest so long as it stays
with you.
And figure out whether you really mean the invitation or not, first: after such an invitation, it is difficult to persuade your guest to leave.
