Reading The Tarot

Sadly, many card readers are clairvoyantly un-gifted. The cards provide interesting insights, but to see more you must then use your clairvoyant skills. So as said previously trust your gut feelings. If the cards try to tell you something then don't dismiss it, its giving you this information for a reason, within reason say what you feel and see, it might seem crazy to you and not relative but your querant may not agree.

Before you begin your reading prepare yourself, go into a quiet room and tune yourself in. You could start by doing some simple breathing exercises to help to relax your mind and body. Remember that most people that come to you for a reading will be slightly tense, they might have been worrying about what you are going to say or they may be stressed from their daily routines. You must tell them that you will not tell them anything that might frighten them and remind them that what you say is the potential for the future and not the actual future. Don't allow them to fill you with information, stop them from doing so and just tell them that you will explain this during the reading. Knowing too much about a person can distract your intuitive flow and you wont be a real reader if your feeding back information that they have already told you or that you already know.

I personally prefer not to read the cards for close friends or relatives and even those I am emotionally involved with. It is pointless to an extent due to the fact I know so much about them and also that I may not see what I want to see and may not accept what I see as being true. Judgement can also be clouded so I prefer not to read for those I am close to.

So... you may want to ask your sitter if there is a specific problem that they want to ask about or if they would like a general reading. Thus avoiding time a waste of one's time if they are only looking for an answer or help to the one specific area in their life. Choose a significant card to represent the problem and place it on the table or you can choose a court card to represent the sitter. Ask them to shuffle the cards and lay them out in the way which your spread requires.

Before considering the cards, tune into that person as much as you can, maybe hold something that they have owned for a while, for example a watch or ring. If you can and are able to extend your sensing to their aura you might be able to see their colours and feel their vibrations and even tell them about the things you feel and see. Starting this way links your senses to the sitter. Now turn your attention to the cards.

First look to see which cards dominate the most, lots of cups will indicate that they have emotional problems, wands connect to work, coins with money and swords with strife. These are pointers to indicate that which you should be talking about. Now look at the individual cards, start with the first and so on, have a close look and take in what you see and feel and what you know about the cards meanings. Touch the cards close your eyes and watch the images appear in your third eye. The other cards nearby to this one may hint what is wrong like a jigsaw puzzle, only you have to piece it together.

Consider all the cards and the meanings of the position that they occupy. Then see how they work with the adjoining cards and how they relate to each other and the significant. Let your logical, everyday mind take a back seat. Your intuition will make connections between the images and symbols you see in the cards. Combine this with the impressions from your sitter and you will give clear and almost, if not totally accurate readings.

I suggest you learn the cards as much as possible before doing readings for others rather than your friends, it's a lot safer and that way no false information can be passed. People do take tarot reading a little too seriously at times. However, do enjoy your newly acquired skill, it improves every time to touch the cards.
