Concentration

 

In order for you to develop mind power its is first that you should be able to control the mind. Training the mind can be compared to the disciplining of a spoiled child, when you attempt to change its pattern it fights you for control. Its chief weapon is to make you weary so that desire to practice dies out. Concentration aids in disciplining the mind and learning to focus its unconscious powers to realize our aims. There are various techniques of concentration that can be very helpful in mind control.....

Here are but a few

By sitting quietly at least once a day each day for just three minutes and fixing your eyes upon a pleasant object and contemplating it without the distraction the process of integration within your mind will automatically begin. it is best to measure the three minutes if you can so as not to have distraction at all, use an alarm of some sort. The moment your mind tries to bring your attention away from the object you are looking at you must gently try to bring it back to the object. The deception and trickery the mind is capable of becoming very obvious at this time. You might find yourself getting restless, might get that itch or that headache, anything to make us lose that concentration and allow the mind its freedom. You must try to control this if you wish to stop being a slave to your thoughts.

Concentrating on a candle is another way to bring the mind under control. It is also very relaxing for the mind and the rest of the body also. You sit cross legged on the floor and put a candle about three feet away from you , then light the candle, try and relax and stare at the light flame for about two minutes. After this press you hands against your closed eyes. The image of the flame should remain in your eyes. You must concentrate all your efforts on the mental image of the flame for about another two minutes. Each time the flame fades from your mind try and bring the picture back into your mind without opening your eyes. This is another good one for gaining control over your mind.

After your mind has been exercised using either of the above now its time to test its powers on another person. Focus your eyes on the back of another's head, someone facing away from you, specially a stranger. As your eyes concentrate on this persons head mentally command them to turn around and look at the person asking them to do so. They will then turn round restlessly and their eyes will wander about for a few seconds before stopping for a few and as if to question the one calling on their mind, which of course will be you..................

The concentration techniques are the first step taken before attempting to acquire things through the other technique known as visualization.
