Categories of Psychic Abilities

 

The title "Categories of Psychic Abilities" was used loosely because as a whole, most paranormal phenomena involving an individual is called "psychic" by the masses. In reality, one has to distinguish between psychic abilities & mediumship abilities. Psychic abilities involve the individual through various means, discerning information on their own. Mediumship involves an individual communing with other spirits to get information, give messages or produce phenomena. The medium must completely discern what is their personal insight versus that of the spirit . Most mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums.

The most common forms of Psychic abilities are as follows:

Clairvoyance:

The ability to see clearly. The ability to see with the third eye names, symbols, & visions.

Clairsentience:

The ability to feel clearly. The ability to sense messages or information. This is typically the first form of psychic ability to be developed.

Clairaudience:

The ability to hear clearly. The psychic is able to hear information with freedom from the passive thoughts in their mind.

Clairagustine:

The ability to taste clearly. The ability to sense though tastes. The individual may notice a metallic taste or taste fruit, for example, in association with certain situations.

Psychometry:

Means 'soul measuring'. The psychic has the ability to read the vibrations emanating from an article of an individual. This is similar to clairsentience.

Medical Intuition:

The ability to perceive the subtle energy around another individual & tell how the individual's thought forms convert into matter.

Remote Viewing:

Psychic is able to view an event or a remote location in detail. Similar to clairvoyance.

The most common forms of Mediumship abilities are broken down into two categories, Mental Mediumship & Physical Mediumship:

Mental Mediumship

Trance:

The medium's ability to step back from their body allowing another entity to enter & speak through them. This can be done in the light or dark.

Clairvoyance:

The ability to see clearly. The ability to see spirits with the third eye.

Clairsentience :

The ability to feel clearly. The ability to sense messages or information which is impressed upon the individual by spirits. This is typically the first form of mediumship to be developed.

Clairaudience:

The ability to hear clearly. The medium is able to hear spirits.

Clairagustine:

The ability to taste clearly. The ability to sense spirits though taste.

 

Physical Mediumship

Direct Voice or Trumpet Mediumship:

Through the use of ectoplasm taken from the medium & sometime the sitters in a séance, spirits are able to create etheric vocal cords with which to speak. A trumpet (long megaphone) is used to amplify the voice for the sitters in the séance to hear. No clairaudience is needed from the sitters. Often the trumpet will lift up & travel through out the room above the sitters with no physical help from the medium. The medium is in deep trance during the séance.

Transfiguration:

During trance, the spirit utilizes astral matter & ectoplasm drawn from the medium to make the medium's features similar to that of the spirit who is speaking.

Scotographs:

Film is held over the medium's solar plexus drawing ectoplasm out of the medium. The film is developed & pictures of spirits are present.

Spirit Card Writing:

Spirits use ectoplasm from the medium, astral matter & small amounts of ink drawn from nearby pens & markers to produce messages & pictures on blank pieces of paper.

Pictures on Silk:

 Spirits draw ectoplasm from the medium & sitters in the séance to produce pictures of themselves & loved ones on raw pieces of silk.

Etherialization:

Ectoplasm is drawn from the medium & some from the sitters in the séance room to build a life-size image of the spirit from which it will speak. This is extremely dangerous & rarely practiced by mediums.

Precipitated Portraits:

Using ectoplasm, etheric matter & bits of colour from the environment, spirits create an image on a blank canvas. Often the image will shape shift in the future.

Psychic Art:

Through various methods, spirits impress upon the medium what to draw or paint. Often times the spirits enter the painting or drawing & manipulate it to give their message or leave an image.

Automatic Writing:

Spirits impress upon the medium what to write (in mental mediumship) & other times manipulate the hand of the medium to give a written message.

Slate Writing:

Using bits of chalk & ectoplasm, spirits write messages on slates.

Apports:

Spirits dissolve objects into astral matter, transport them to the séance room, then using the ectoplasm of the medium & sitters, reassembles the objects & delivers them to the sitters of the séance.
